We love baked beans with grilled meat, but since I always end up adding “a little of this and that” no matter who makes the beans I decided to make my own. It’s sort of a pain to put all this together, but the end result is worth it!2 cups dried Navy Beans10 cups water6-7 pieces crispy bacon, crumbled1/2 yellow onion, finely minced1 clove garlic, finely minced4 ounces tomato paste1/4 cup molasses3/4 cup brown sugar1/2 teaspoon sea salt1/4 teaspoon Maple Sea SaltPinch chili powderDash Taco Seasoning1/4 teaspoon Spice RubBoil beans in water for about 5 minutes. Move beans and water into a 4 or 6 quart slow cooker.Cook bacon and set aside to dry. Mince onion and garlic and brown in bacon grease. Crumble bacon and add to slow cooker. Drain onions and garlic and add to mixture.Add the rest of the ingredients to the slow cooker and stir. Cook on high for about 6 hours. Makes about 3 quarts of baked beans.
